Before you start using SmartController, you must install and set up the required license, SmartController, and the Components (Adapters and Optimizers) that you are going to use.

Setup Flow

1. Install and Set Up the License

Install the license software and configure the license settings required to use 3D-SUITE.

2. Install Required Components

Install the Components required to use 3D-SUITE Adapters and Optimizers.

You can choose either Complete or Custom installation.

  To run Scenarios in SmartController, please select ScenarioEditor when you install Components with Custom installation.
  

3. Install SmartController

Install SmartController, a front-end product of 3D-SUITE.

4. Set up SmartController

Configure the 3D-SUITE settings required to use SmartController, such as CAD settings for translation, Optimizer settings, license server information, Scenario folders, Component folders, and other common options.

You can configure these settings in Setting Utility, or from [File] > [SmartController Setting] in SmartController.

5. Create Scenarios

Create Scenarios in ScenarioEditor.

A Scenario defines the set of processes that SmartController runs.

6. Start Using SmartController

After the license, Components, SmartController, common settings, and Scenarios are ready, you can start using SmartController.
