Transform the Coordinate System 🔊
This video explains the procedure to transform the coordinate system by defining a new origin.
0:28 Define the coordinate origin by selecting 2 points
1:09 Define the coordinate origin by selecting 3 planes

💡 Why do we transform the coordinate system?
- To match the vertical/horizontal directions of the point cloud data and the coordinate X/Y/Z axes
- To increase the accuracy in creating Clipping Box, 2D drawings, etc.
- To increase the accuracy and efficiency in 3D modeling, e.g., creating new elements aligning to the coordinate axes, aligning the existing elements to the coordinate axes, etc.
- To set the coordinate origin to an appropriate location, e.g., at the corner of the building
- To increase the accuracy and efficiency in locating the imported CAD/polygon models
